The Chamber Ambassadors were treated to an excellent lunch and joined in on the Champagne Toast. Members of the media and Louis Abruzzo, President of Sandia Peak Ski and Tram, were in attendance. Louis spoke about his relationship with the restaurant owners, Doug Smith and Russ Zeigler over the course of thirty years, and his first job out of college was working on the lease for High Finance.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Friday, November 27, 2009

Thursday was a very special day at Sandiago's Mexican Grill. We served close to 250 foster and adoptive families from the Albuquerque area. The restaurant was full of children's laughter from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. A lot of really big thank yous go out: Sarah Palmer from CYFD who did a marvelous job of getting out the invitations and taking reservations, High Finance & Sandiago's 30 volunteers and their families who came in on their day off, US Foods for donating much of the food and Sandia Peak Tramway for giving the kids and their families a special rate on the tram.
Two TV stations ran stories about the dinners. The links to those stories are pasted here:

"Perched high on the ridgeline of the Sandia Mountains at 10,400 feet, the only way to reach this restaurant is via the Sandia Peak Tramway . But do not let the remote setting fool you. High Finance Restaurant and Tavern is one of the finest dining experiences in the area, and would be even without the awe-inspiring view. The kitchen offers a something-for-everybody menu ranging from seafood to steaks, including a Black Angus prime rib. The green chile stew enjoys coveted status as a starter. This is a great restaurant for impressing."
